Music Production

The music production courses are designed for students with a musical background and play an instrument such as guitar or piano.  Music producers focus on the essentials skills and technology to score soundtracks for indie films and television commercials, write company jingles, develop backing tracks for Hip Hop and R&B artists, compose songs for retail product lines and arrange existing musical pieces for orchestration.  These classes will primarily use the DAW platform of Logic.  After a student illustrates a grasp of the application they will work directly on projects such as video game scoring and arranging compositions for retail products.

Students will be given individual lessons on their primary instrument as it is crucial for composition.  Students will also be introduced to complimentary musical arranging in vocal, string and percussion instruments. Upon completion of three quarters of course work students will have an understanding of the music industry and have the ability to create original music in a variety of genres.   They will have a demo reel and more importantly the self-confidence to make the first steps as a professional music producer.
